South Bay Massage College Graduates qualify for the national certification exam and city/state license exams, if required. 500 hours of massage education is required to become nationally certified. Employers post their massage positions, available to our SBMC graduates.

Upon successful completion of 500 hours at SBMC training, many of our graduates take the National Certification Examination. This voluntary test has been established to measure entry level competence in the field. SBMC comprehensive training in massage prepares our graduates for the national certification exam.

State of California — California Private Postsecondary and Education Act of 2009
South Bay Massage College approval to operate in the State of California is based on provisions of the California Private Postsecondary Education Act (CPPEA) of 2009, which is effective January 1, 2010. Under Section 94802(a) of CPPEA. The Act is administered by the Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education, under the Department of Consumer Affairs. The Bureau can be reached at: P.O. The Bureau establishes educational standards that are intended to serve as the minimum standard for instructional quality and institutional stability for private postsecondary schools in California. The Bureau responds to student complaints and oversees a fund designed to help reimburse a student's tuition if a school closes unexpectedly. The Bureau is also responsible for approving education and training programs for veterans.
